Water Project
The Agolomuok Community Water Project is designed to supply clean underground water to a community of approximately 6,000 households representing around 40,000 individuals. It was build by an international aid agency many years ago and consists of an artesian bore with an electric pump powered by solar panels.
The water project is designed to supply water to a nearby primary school and to 4 water kiosks located within the Agolomuok community. However only the primary school and two water kiosks are connected to the bore, servicing some 4,000 households. Everyone else must pay to have water delivered or walk 3-4kms to Lake Victoria to wash dishes, to wash themselves and to draw water for drinking and cooking. The lake water is polluted and unclean.
Our goal is to connect the remaining water kiosks so fresh water can reach many more households in the local community. Every dollar you give for this project is potentially a life saving dollar.
