FIRST FRUITS PROGRAM

The First Fruits program is a micro financing scheme to provide individuals and their families with the resources needed to start a small business. Many people in the Agolomuok community cannot afford to purchase the means of production, be that animals to breed from or goods to sell. Selected families are given a loan of livestock to breed from or an interest free loan to purchase goods for resale.

Another component of First Fruits is the proposed KKI Education and Training Centre where land has been leased on the shores of Lake Victoria for this purpose. When complete the Centre aims to improve the income earning potential of families by teaching and demonstrating new skills and providing practical opportunities to practise these skills.

The KKI Education & Training Centre is also intended to produce livestock for the First Fruits program and generate income to support the work of Kenya Kids International. The budget to establish the Centre is $20,000 and we seek the support of individuals and corporates to meet this goal. Please contact Rob or Rikki for more details.
