#1 – BECOME A MEMBER OF KKI
By becoming a member of Kenya Kids International you are supporting the poorest of the poor. Your $5 joining fee and $25 annual membership fee translates into food, clothing, shelter and medicine for the very needy.
#2 – BECOME A CORPORATE SPONSOR
We are looking for more corporate sponsors to partner with Kenya Kids International. Please contact us by email or telephone to discuss a sponsorship program that suits your company. We will ensure your sponsorship is suitably acknowledged on our website and literature.
#3 – SPONSOR A STUDENT
$49 a month (or $588 per year) covers the cost of secondary school fees for one student and some of their textbooks. The student’s family is asked to meet the cost of writing materials and other textbooks if possible.
#4 – GIVE FAMILIES FRESH WATER
The Agolomuok Community Water Project is designed to supply much needed fresh clean water. Solar panels deliver renewable power to drive a submersible pump and draw water from deep underground. The water is distributed via underground pipes to a nearby primary school and 4 water kiosks.
However, only two kiosks are connected to service 3,000 households. Everyone else must walk 5-6kms to Lake Victoria to wash dishes, to wash themselves and to draw water for drinking and cooking.
Our goal is to restore the remaining two water kiosks to meet the needs of all households in the Agolomuok community and install three more kiosks. We need to raise $40,000 for this project and every dollar you give is potentially a life saving dollar.
#5 – FUNDRAISE BY HOSTING A SOCIAL EVENT
Why not ask your family and friends to support Kenya Kids International? You may like to host an event such as a BBQ, film or games night and encourage people to support the cause. Another idea is to host a “Christmas in July” event and ask your family and friends to make a gift to Kenya Kids International.
We can provide you with brochures explaining what Kenya Kids International does and why we need more support. Email Rob at rob@kenyakidsinternational.org.au or call +61 409 413 248 for more information.
#6 – SUPPORT PRIMARY SCHOOLS
Rob and Rikki support primary schools in and around Agolomuok, by supplying educational resources, uniforms to the poorest children and feeding programs when needed.
Many of the school children have lost one or both parents. A local hospital administrator estimates that 25% of the population is infected with HIV/Aids. Children who have lost both parents are taken in and cared for by relatives or other families.
These schools often lack classrooms, equipment, teaching aids, writing materials and textbooks. The teachers do a remarkable job and their dedication in working in often challenging and difficult situations is inspirational. Any financial support you can provide will be well used.
